Treatment of heel spur syndrome and plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a very common condition throughout Quebec. The heel pain is caused by inflammation of the fibrous ligament that supports the arch of the foot.
Plantar fasciitis typically causes intense pain when you take your first steps in the morning or after resting your feet. Heel spur syndrome is a complication resulting from untreated fasciitis.
Major causes and risk factors include:
- Flat foot or hollow foot
- Prolonged standing and/or being overweight
- Inadequate shoes for walking surfaces or intensive sports/exercise (jogging, etc.)
- Use of stairs and ladders
Our clinic uses a variety of treatment approaches including taping and photodynamic therapy. The treatment also includes tips for prevention and recommendations of exercises to address the specific cause of the problem.
Joint pain in the foot
Bunions and pain in the heel or other joints of the foot. We offer photodynamic and taping treatment aimed at reducing your pain and allowing you to walk as normally as possible.
Reflexology is a healing technique grounded in a system of reflex points situated on the feet. By freeing up and mobilizing our innate healing power, it enables our body to re-establish balance. Specific areas of our feet correspond to different body parts, glands and organs.
Pressure is applied to these reflex points, sending waves of calming energy to target areas while improving blood circulation and optimizing the natural functioning of the body. Reflexology helps calm both our physical and mental states and is great as a preventative treatment.
